In our present culture everywhere in the world there is an intellectual approach to everything, and art suffers under this, because art has to do with the heart.

The intellect is only able to touch problems on the surface.

The artist tells himself: "I have to find the real source of hatred and love, and plunge into my heart."

How to find the right feelings - that is what we are trying to find in our work

Our exercises are leading our hearts and our feelings - this part of our being which is so hidden from us. If you grasp our Method and work from this point of view, you will understand that there is no single exercise which does not lead directly to the feelings, and this is what we are aiming at.

So don't be satisfied by touching your feelings with your intellect. We must appeal to our body and expand it in every direction, and ask it to help us to awaken our feelings.

(Michael Chekhov on January 23, 1939 - recorded by Deidre Hurst DuPrey)

Please note that not all three faculty may be present at all live online sessions.
